St. Andrews Youth Scholarship

The 2022 St Andrews Youth Endowment Scholarships have been awarded to Georgie Hawke and Isla Young. These two deserving recipients are pursuing tertiary study in 2023. This is the second year that these scholarships have been awarded from the fund that came out of the sale of the St Andrews Golf Club. The Youth Scholarship are awarded to support applicants who are living in, or were born in the wider St Andrews area. Applicants must be under 18 years of age and are pursuing sporting, cultural or academic excellence.

Georgie has recently completed her final year at Timaru Girls High School and is using this grant to help pay for course costs at Otago Polytechnic, where she will study occupational therapy. Georgie was presented with her award at the Aoraki Foundation office at Community House.

Isla Young received a surprise at the Roncalli College awards ceremony where she was told she had been selected to receive a scholarship towards a Bachelor of Nursing at Ara Timaru.

On behalf of all of us at the Aoraki Foundation and the former St. Andrews Golf Club, we wish both these impressive young women the very best in their future studies.
