A gift for the health of all our community
For many years individuals and families have chosen to donate to the Timaru Hospital, showing their appreciation of the services and care they received. The then South Canterbury District Health Board (SCDHB) decided to use these funds to create a wonderful and significant sized endowment fund that would benefit as many people as possible. The goal of the fund is to improve the health – physical, mental and social – of the communities of Aoraki/South Canterbury.
The South Canterbury Health Endowment Fund distributes grants to charitable, worthy causes annually in a contestable grant round. A dedicated sub committee of the Aoraki Foundation The SC Health Endowment Committee make the decisions on these funding application. This dedicated committee is made up of trustees from the Aoraki Foundation, health professionals, and members of the community with experience in the health industry. They are all voluntary and give their time to this committee to ensure these fund achieve the best health outcomes for our South Canterbury.
